I as an adult, ended up with anxiety isues due to my dd's rage and stuff...and she wasn't RAD...the ODD and manipulations really did me in though....it's not just the kids who are affected!

Again thanks to all of you for your words of wisdom.
I do worry about how my younger son in particular will be affected. This is certainly one reason I would only adopt kids who are younger than both mine. My older son is a very wise beyond his years type who finds it easy to read people and be understanding but not easily manipulated. My younger son does not have as easy a time understanding others' challenges, and he is more apt to take things personally. The problem is that I can try to think about every scenario but until they are here there's no telling what might come to pass. |
