Today is the big day.

He is leaving in a bit to go and see his Mom and get his dog back. I'm feeling terribly insecure today.

He drove his car yesterday in a huge snow storm when I directly told him no to, and I lost my cool with him. I yelled at him when he came back. First time I've really done that....its usually Coach who's yelling and I am consoling.

Its so hard giving so much and getting so very little back. I'll be so glad when she's gone back home.

Well he came back, but I really don't know much. He didn't stay over there long....really only for lunch.

He DID get his Make-A-Wish dog back. And its a pretty cool dog.

When he came in from the visit he went straight downstairs and laid on his bed with his head buried in his arms. That's what he usually does when his feelings are hurt.

Then I took him Christmas shopping. Before he left for the visit, he'd been planning on buying his new baby brother a present. But when we went shopping after the visit, he said he didn't want to anymore. I asked him why and he said "I just don't see myself having much to do with him in the future, so I'm not buying him anything."

He's been pretty cranky this afternoon.

Got a little more down to the bottom of it tonight. We asked him about his Mom's boyfriend (the father of the baby). He said there wasn't any point in talking to him because his Mom was just using him.

We asked why he felt that way. He told us "She uses everybody."

He said that she did not pick up or mess with the baby much while he was there. He said the baby was probably an accident. That "she doesn't love anybody."

He seemed to enjoy opening Christmas presents with our family tonight, and liked what we got him. I hate to go off and leave him like this, but he wants to go back to see his Mom again on Tuesday.

Well, what he is seeing is reality and sometimes reality stinks. He had hopes that she had changed or that he was not remembering things right or, or, or, anything but the truth. Nothing hurts worse than knowing the one person who is "supposed" to love you doesn't. Think about it, in our society, we have that saying about a face only a mother could love. Mothers love is supposed to be the strongest thing in the world (Just ask harry potter) You hear stories about moms lifting cars off thier kids, going into fires after thier kids, dropping everything to stay by a sick kids side. The woman who gives birth to you is the one who is "suppposed" to love you no matter what. So you wonder what is wrong with you that she doesn't. Eventually you can accept love from other places, but it still hurts that and bugs you that this one person who should have loved you most did not.
He is hurting, keep loving him, even yelling at him for doing something stupid shows you care.
