What agencies (if any) handle adoption of older children???

I just found out my birthsister has a 5 and 3 year old in the foster care system. This is kind of premature considering I don't even know if her parental rights have been taken from her yet, but if they have it is my goal to get my niece and nephew into a loving home, PRONTO!

It heartens me a bit to see this forum and that people do care about the older children and not just the precious newborns...but how do I get my kiddos noticed?

They will not be lost! I can't have that! I am sobbing every time I think about them. I have never met them, but they are my flesh and blood. I only wish I had a home bigger than a can of tuna so that I could take them in, but alas I don't.

Nothign against foster care - I know some great foster parents out there...the problem is all of the transition and the fact that they will become less and less of a chance of being adopted as time goes on.

Hey Phoenix, Anything new on your neice and nephew? If I were you i'd call the Social Service department and let them know who you are and what you're interested in doing. Social Workers are humans too, and most do care about the kids....

Call the county that they're in and tell them you're a relative and would like to take them. You can do kinship care.
