Behavior classes?

I've have lurked here for more than a year and finally have a question to ask. My homestudy has been submitted and is beign considered for a sibling group currently in foster care. Today my worker emailed me and asked if I'd be willing to take "behavior classes" if I ended up being selected for these kids. Apparently their worker is recommending this additional training. I emailed her back to find out more information, but can anyone help me out with what that means?

classes

She might mean the classes provided for becoming a therapeutic foster parent. The classes range on topics of how to work with children with special needs. Where I live they are generally run by one professional (usually a therapist or phscyiatrist) and one experienced parent. They are pretty informative, and great for networking.

I was told that when specific diagnosis are listed their was additional training available.

My personal feeling is that any 'good' training (we have a local trainer who is a waste) that is available can only benefit me to have it.

Dawn,

I would want to know what behaviors these kids have that the workers feel you need extra training for. Specific behaviors are rarely listed in photolistings and such. This might give you an idea of what they are talking about before moving forward.

Special Classes

THey vary in length. Some are done in one day. But it is a full day. Some are an hour or hour and a half of a several weeks, one day a week. I imagine it varies by the topic, and who is running it.
