My name is Dana, and I was born on Dec. 5, 1971 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. My last name at birth was Powell. My Mother's name is Kathleen "Kathy"...Powell was her maiden name.

I was fortunate that the man she married when I was just 1 year old adopted me as his own, so I have always had a Daddy in my life. There is still a big part of me that is missing...I guess you could say...because I don't know "where I'm from". Mom refuses to tell me anything about him except that his name is David, and that he had red hair. I can't even be sure that's the truth, due to her feelings about me finding him. I think she is afraid I will be hurt, and maybe I will...but I have to know! I need to know...do I look like him? Do I have other brothers or sisters out there?? Grandparents, Aunts, or Uncles that may have always wondered about me?

Mom was only 19 when she got pregnant. I don't know if my birth father was the same age or not. I'm told he left her when he found out, so I'm guessing he was very young.

I know this is very little information to go on. I am just hoping that someone somewhere will see this and be able to help. PLEASE, Dad...if you're out there...let me know! I don't want to disrupt your life...I just feel that I have the right to know my true roots. Don't you?
