I'm just embarking on a search for my birth mother. I was born on 2/14/69 ( February 14 1969 ) [Feb. 14 1969] in Amherst Ohio. Amherst is in Lorain County.

This is actually the second time I've made any effort. The first time was about 10 years ago, at which time I got nowhere fast. I filed a petition with the Probate court and so am on record with the Ohio Adoption Registry. I also persuaded the librarian in one of the libraries to check through a weeks worth of newspapers to see if any births for that day were announced in the newspaper. (I got a couple of names, but one of them announced the birth of 2 boys to a married couple and the other was 1 boy to a married couple. I found it highly unlikely that I was a twin separated at birth or that a married couple would give up their child for adoption after having it announced in the local papers, so didn't follow up on that "lead."). After those initial disappointments I just let it go. My interest has now been rekindled. Unfortunately, I live on the other side of the country so can't do much sleuthing myself.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
