Need lawyer referral needed in Cuyahoga or Summit counties
For various reasons, we prefer not to use our agency's lawyer for finalization. We live in the greater Cleveland area (Cuyahoga county), and the agency is in Summit county--we've been told the adoption can be finalized in either place.
PLEASE backchannel referrals if you have them. Thanks so much! PS: this is my first post since the TPR went through--so excited!!! One step closer... |

Hi there, I'm also in Cuyahoga Co. We finalized our first two in Lake co and the third in Cuy. You DO NOT need an attorney to finalize in Cuy Co. Summit Co does require an atty, so tell your agency you'd like to finalize in Cuy Co. You can call down to Probate Court to confirm, but during each of our adoptions, the agencies handled the paperwork (cost was built into the fees). Good luck and congratulations!
