Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows about a homestudy. I know what it is I was just wondering what all do they do, what questions they ask, etc.

Hi,
I work for a OH adoption agency and i am also an adoptive mom. Have had to go through a Home Study twice. Although all states vary alittle they are all pretty much the same. We had allot of paperwork to fill out. Fire inspection done on the house , FBI check, driving record, child parenting class if you have no children in the home under 5.CPR class, Marriage Cert, Birth Cert, Proof of income, Soc Sec #. About two meetings with social worker who explains adoption and will try to have you talk about what kind of child would fit best in your home such as race,sex, age. And how many children you can handle. Single, twins etc.
Home this helps some. Really nothing to be stressed about.

They ask questions about your past and everyone in your home. They also ask about your income, education, how you were punished, what your parents were like, what you would change or make different about your life, your stengths, weaknesses, gosh just about everything you can think of they ask.
