Anyone waiting to Adopt thru State/Recently Adopted

I decided to start a new thread since there doesn't seem to be alot going on.

I am somewhat new to posting on the forums. I usually only post when there is something of interest to me, but I thought I would see if there was anyone out there who is Waiting to Adopt thru State or has Recently Adopted thru State.

My husband & I are currenlty waiting to see if we have been approved by the State to adopt. We finished our Pre-Service Training & homestudies. Our Sw said that she would have her report to her supervisor by the middle of this week. We are hoping to adopt a girl ages 0-7yrs old. What do you think our chances are for finding a girl in that range who has already had TPR & is available for adoption?? How long was your wait for approval before you could begin your search?? What kind of problems, if any...did you experience??

Thank you,
Solarscarlet

Hello,
We are here in OH and We did a Domestic Adoption for our first daughter. We are trying to find a Co to do our Homestudy and Pre Service Training so we can start the process. Our Co. no longer does the classes and I have been not getting many answers when I call. They take my name and number and say they will call when the next class comes open.
We are wanting a AA girl 2-9. Also with TPR. But we will do Respite Care also.
We were told the AA Children it is somewhat easier to get a younger child.

We adopted through Cuyahoga County in 2003. It was a fairly good experience. A lot has changed over the past several years so we have now decided to go to a private agency. I just pm'd you to ask about your experience with an agency you had listed. I can give you more specifics to our experience if you would like.
