*whew* I just got back home from a whirlwind trip to Ohio where I was able to get 2 appts made at Vital Statistics for searching the Birth Index.
My birth year (1971) fills 18 microfiche films and after 4 sessions, I am now on film #11! I was getting discouraged because after 3 sessions, I hadn't found a match - all births on same date were either wrong gender, wrong birth place, or to a married birthmom (mine was single). FINALLY, I found 3 possible entries today!!! They pulled the first one for me - no match - wrong time of birth and wrong hospital. Then I requested a 2nd BC to be pulled - the came back that that particular BC was "unavailable". Yea!!! This means the BC is sealed, so is a possible adoptee. May not be me - but at least it's finally a name I can search. Same with the 3rd entry - also "unavailable". I'm not sure how to proceed from here since the only info I have to go on is the maiden name listed on the Birth Index - last name only, no first name. So... Mackie dear... I'll be shooting you a private message with more specifics. ![]()

Wonderful!!
I wish I had those Microfiche. I am always saddened when someone wants to search and they were born during the 1969, 71, 72, 74 and 75 years. Most people cannot make the trips to Columbus. And for sure you cannot get the search done unless someone is willing to GO TO Columbus to Vital Statistics to do the search. Lots have been scammed by people saying they can do that search tho.
I will be waiting for your PM. Blessings Mackie Quote:
