Concerns over Probate court/Vital stats in Ohio

Hoping ssomeone might be able to shed some light on a concern I have.
In Oct. 2000 I petitioned the probate court for release of information. I am an adoptee born June 1972, closed and private adoption. I received a form letter back that says among other things "Futher, this court finds that neither the agency nor our records reveal that either birth parent is deceased."
It also stated that a sibling had also petitioned the court. As I did not see this for several months when I replied they told me "it was a mistake".
Now then, on to my question at hand. Who is the court refering to when they say "agency"?
The reason for my question is this: With help I found my birth mother in July 2004. She died in an auto accident in Columbus Ohio in 1973. Who is it that the court checked with on the status of death of my birth parents???
I sent a letter to Gov. Taft. He forwarded my letter to the Ohio Department of Health. Their response was to pretty much give no answers but to direct any blame back to probate court.
Any thoughts, ideas, answers??? Please can someone direct me as to who I need to contact to try and 1) change the wording in the court petition response and 2) try to get my adoption decree.
I have obtained because of my birth mothers death certificate my OBC as well as my Placement Report.
I'm looking for more answers (birth fathers name would be great) and want to do something to prevent another adoptee of birth relative from being misguided into believing they are looking for a living relative if in fact they are deceased.
Thanks a ton!!
Wendy

Hey Christine!
Does who have copies of what I have?
I wrote a letter to the judge and included the letter I got from the health department as well as copies of my orders , the first one and the two amended ones. That was mid last week and if it goes as I expect I will get no reply or it will take at least a month.
Frusterating beyond belief how I keep getting swept under a rug!

I meant the death cert and original BC.

Is there anyway to request to see the judge in person and not just rule on paper? It HAS to up your chances to be able to say... um yes.... judge.. .this right here is the proof that she is dead.... and what agency are you talking about?

I dont know... Maybe it is the dad that they are talking about....

Yes the court has copies of my obc and death certificate. They sent me a copy of my obc after I sent them a copy of the death certificate that I got from Vital stats.
Seeing the judge in person probably would be helpful. I live in Texas and would need to go back to Ohio. When I was there in Oct. I did see the majestrate who was of no help, though I was asking different questions at that time.
So, if need be I'll save up for another trip home!!

in search of....

this is oh such a long shot...but anymore if you want to get a different result you have try something different. I also petitioned the courts and was told my birth parents were not deceased...the same info you shared. My birth father was italian - I guess a similar fact maybe - were your birth parents in the military stationed at Lockbourne?

Of course I may be just chasing up a dead tree but it sure makes what one source you think reliable....all of sudden unreliable. It is horrible the careless way they treat this info because we are adoptees we don't deserve the info...like some type of low class citizen - so sad really!

Sorry I missed your post ..................nope, not sure about them being stationed anywhere. My first mom had an affair in Las Vegas then went back to Ohio to have me.
I do know it is fact that she is deceased, and 90% sure on the father being Italian but have no idea how to get a name or where. And never did get any reply from the courts or gov on this issue.
Lovely huh?
Puke!
