Looking for my sister who was given up for adoption. My mother resided in Ohio until 1962. She had a baby girl in late June 1960; between the 21st -25th. The baby had a problem keeping her food down due to either a "growth" in her throat or a reflux disorder. She named the baby "Marcella" or "Marsha", but that could have been changed. She signed to give the baby up for adoption when the baby was between 14-22 months. My Mother had two older children that were born of the same two parents. The children, including the baby girl, were all blonde. The older sister and brother later had darker hair, chestnut brown and dark brown, respectively. My mother is a pretty lady and has dark hair and blue eyes. Her husband, Jim, had blonde hair and blue eyes. Mom was born in 1937. Her husband was born in the early 1920's. Mom left Ohio and moved to Michigan in the Autumn of 62. She gave the baby up for adoption because she had no medical insurance and she was getting a divorce. Her maiden name was Hall. Ok, first of all...a partial DOB won't work for a search. An EXACT DOB is needed. I would think IF your sister was not placed until she was 14-22 months your mother should have her OBC. Also you do not state where in Ohio she was born. I looked through the whole 1960 Birth Index and did not find a listing for a child with the 2 names you gave...SUMMERS/HALL.

Hi Jen,

I would love some help. We are still looking. I was wrong about the year; my sister was born in 1959...spring or early summer. She was born in Willard, Ohio's Memorial Hosp. My mother only had her for a few months before she was placed in a temporary foster home (and later placed for adoption). Mom probably did have her original birth certificate, but didn't have it later and can't remember the exact month of her birth. Mom had 12 children in all...Marsha was her third. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

I was wrong about the year. It was Willard Memorial and in 1959. Thank you for all your efforts...they are very appreciated. I live near Seattle, let me know if I can be of help to anyone who may be looking out this way.
