Thumbs up Baby Girl Born 2/09/69

Have you found your birthfamily? I am looking for a birthniece born on 2/09/69 in Cleveland, Ohio. When I opened my email today, I found a letter from her natural brother. He would also like to find her. She was given the name of Anne Barlow on her unamended birth certificate. Her father was Dudley Hugh Barlow, Jr. Anyway, for what it is worth, I am pulling for you. Please let me know what you find and how you did it. Good luck!

still looking!

Hi there! I am still searching and posting wherever I can. You are so lucky to have access to the original birth certificate. Mine is completely useless. You would never know I was adopted from my birth certificate but I do have my adoption decree so.... I wanted to tell you about a group that you should join. Its called Ohio Angels With Open Arms and it is a network of people like us searching primarily in the state of Ohio. Look it up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OhioAngelsWithOpenArms/

There are several search angels that are members of our group and lots of adoptees in search. Good luck in your journey. I wish you were looking for me.
Kirsten

Thumbs up

Anything good to report yet? I am still looking too, but my natural nephew has found me. It is all so thrilling, but I never realized just how overwhelming and stressful this could feel. Believe me, I am feeling sick. My friend says the next step is a badly upset stomach. Anyway, it is really worth anything that happens to me. Just hope we find my niece, who was born in 1969 close to your birthday. I am rooting for you.

Kristen, by original birth certificate do you mean the amended birth certificate? If so, that is how my niece's certificate looks. On the cross referenced index, her certificate looks like she was adopted as Anne, followed by her mom's maiden name, and using her father's last name, as her own. As one searcher put it, "It is as though my brother or someone masquerading as my brother went to court and adopted his own daughter." Is that what you are referring too? If so, let's stay in touch. I am at a brick wall. A search angel that has been helping me does not think that searching the micro-fische will be of any help. She thinks that it will appear the same there, as it does in the amended cross referenced book. Another searcher found a Zz next to Anne's name. She thought that meant that they had moved Anne out of state.
