You are all an inspiration...

I just have to say what a wonderful support system these boards have been.

After over six years of searching I think I finally found my birth mother. There are too many coincidences that it has to be her, BUT I'm keeping a level head just in case!

I wanted to say that after reading through these posts for so many years, the birthmother stories are inspiring! I HOPE and PRAY that my birthmother accepts me with open arms, however I am preparing for the worst...just in case.

I have a phone number but decided on a letter instead. I sent “the letter” today. So the next few days will be rough ones hopefully with a happy ending.

Thanks!!

Good Luck,
I just wnated to tell you to keep your head held high I just was recently reunited with my bmom ini April of this past year. There are ups and downs as you can imagine. Let me tell you you will be on cloud 109 if she responds with a open heart. This feeling for me lasted for about 3 days and then reality hit and I wanted to know the answers to my questions. I am one of the lucky ones I have found her and she wanted to find me also. My biggest problem with the reunion was the fact that I had personally put her on a pedestal all of my life so when i finally met her it was nothing like I had imagined. It was hard for me to deal with. I am assured that this was a normal reaction. just thought i would lend you a ear if you want to talk post me back!

Paula,

Thanks for your post. I am not necessarily keeping my head high...just on straight (if that makes any sense)...? You see, I want to be ready for anything that's about to come at me...if anything at all! I mailed my letter on Monday, today is Thursday...she could have gotten it already OR it may arrive today OR should could be away OR she could not want to talk to me OR the letter could be returned OR a million other things are running through my mind!!!

I've had a little experience with this. I recently found my a.sisters birthmother and after all of the excitement, it's like...now what?

Actually, the member SEARCHGURU has a great post sort of outlining the ups and downs in the process that's really helpful (if I can find it I'll post it)

BTW, Congratulations on reuinting with your bmom! So after 4/5 months how is everything going now?

Anne

Anne,
All is well with bmom it's her husband who I have problems with. have you ever met someone and the hair stands up on the back of your neck? This is how I react everytimeI talk to him. There is just something about him hat I do not trust. My bgma is the one that is haveing the emotional issues. She made my bmom give me up so she is having a hard time dealing with it. I just wanted to tell you. The day I found my bmom I also had her phone number. Unlike youthough curosity got the best f me and I called her. It turned out to be wonderful obviously. So do you still live In NC? Personally, I live in Ohio now. It is much easier I think for the renunion this way we are not in each others haor 24/7. Well when and if your bmom responds let me know how it went!
Always a listening ear
paula
