Someone to check info and obituary in Corning, NY for me.

I am trying to find info on a Albert H. Nelson that worked for the city of Corning (as a truck driver of some sort I am told). He began work around early '60's thru 1976 and fell and got head damage he never recovered from. He was sent to Indiana and died 6 weeks later in 1976.

I am also trying to find info on Mary M. Nelson that is buried in the Hope Cemetery in Corning. She was born in 1922 and died in 1971. She may have been married to Albert Nelson. Albert is my birth father and I am curious if he had any other children while in New York.

Thanks for all the help anyone can give me.

A very HUGE Thank-You

Thank you so very much. I have been working on this one for over a year. This is the first solid info I have come up with. Someone had given me the info about a Mrs. Nelson in the cemetery listing and I was pretty sure it might be her. Thanks for the confirmation!!!!!!!!!! Does the obit have her full name and anything about her family? Is there a chance you could send me a copy of the obit? Hopefully, I could find some family members in my area that could fill me in on info about my father. There may be additional family members there????????? on the Nelson side???????? Every time I find a little info it leads to more questions. But, I am so glad to know all I can.

Again, thanks so much.

Bob

Thanks again for the help. My father stayed in Corning until 1976 when he supposedly fell and got a head injury that he never recovered from. He spent some time in a "recovery unit" in Elmira.
It is also a recovery unit for alcoholics (which he was) and was then brought to Indiana by his brother. He only lived another 6 weeks here. I found his obit (no mention of previous wife. No mention of any children.) Only listed his siblings -- and they are all deceased. I have located some of the cousins but they have no info -- like a lot of kids, they paid no attention to other relatives info.

Did the obit list her relatives? If so, were they in Indiana? Other places? I would be interested in the relatives in Indiana.

Many thanks,
Bob

By the way, what was Mary's maiden name? The info I had been given was that they thought her last name had been Turner. Does the obit give that info?

Sherrie; You have been very helpful. I have a happy and full life. I have found a brother and two sisters. I have located graves of two brothers that died early. I am in search of my two oldest sisters. And, I have a family that raised me as their own. No need to feel sorry. I am just on a quest to know more about my birthparents. I have already found more than I ever thought I would and have a wonderful relationship with the brother that I found. And..............my youngest sister is due to have a baby girl on April 30th!!!!!!!!!!! No matter how much I search, I will never meet my parents. So, I am only anxious to know what I can. Mostly, so far, it only makes me more grateful to know I was adopted. I do not mean to make that sound really negative. Just a very positive way to look at it. It was a better home and lifestyle. I have been in touch with the Acley funer home and she is going to e-mail me a copy of the obit. Hopefully, it will lead me somewhere to find more info. Happy trails...............Bob
