She was very young and unwed at the time of my conception, birth and adoption. I was born in Norwich, NY which is only 20 minutes from where i live today but Its still very hard to find her. the information my adopted parents had...

SOCIAL HISTORY INFORMATION -SARAH KOCICH
Birth Mother -born in December, 1969 in Pennsylvania. Weight 9 lbs. 1oz. She was the second of two children born to Marine Corps parents. She has a brother a year or two older than she. Mother is 5' 1/2" tall and weighs 125-130 lbs. She has a sturdy/athletic build. She has brown straight, thick hair that has a little natural wave. Her eyes are green. She is left handed. Katherine has a friendly, vivacious personality and is anything but quiet! However, she does get very quiet when she is upset. She loves lasagna, nacho chips and chocolate chip mint ice cream. Katherine was a B student in grade school and received mostly C's in high school. During her high school years, she had no emotional or financial support from her family. Her parents divorced when she was young and her mother was quiet, withdrawn, showed no affection and did not communicate with her children. Katherine's brother lived with relatives in Pennsylvania the majority of his teen years, graduated from high school and entered college. He was very bright and an excellent student. Katherine did not do well in school and stated she felt she could not achieve, she was belittled and discouraged by her mother. Eventually, she did graduate and entered the Marine Corps. In high school, her favorite subjects were art, business and gym. She was very athletic, played soccer and field hockey, was especially talented in floor and beam portions of gymnastics, had dreams of being a body builder and being in the Olympics. Her best sport was probably track and field, and her best events included long jump, shot-put and the 50 yard dash, where she was a high school record holder in this event. Her family religious background was Baptist, although she was not an active church member. Ethnic background was Irish/American Indian. Katherine's maternal ethnic history was full Irish. Her paternal background included a full blooded Blackfoot grandmother. Katherine's mother was born in 1946. She is 5'2" tall, has a medium build, green eyes and red hair. She is a college graduate.
Katherine's father was born around 1942. He was a tree surgeon. He has had no contact with his family in over ten years. He is 5'9" or 5'10", dark complexion, black hair, green eyes and freckles. He is a very good looking, muscular man. Katherine's brother is 5'10", fair complexion, medium brown hair, blue eyes, medium build. He is very athletic and a good student, majoring in physics at college. Katherine learned she was pregnant in January or February, 1987. She had been to Florida with friends, including the putative father, in November and December. The putative father was born in December, 1967. He is described as being 6'2", 170 lbs, with black wavy hair and brown eyes. He was described as being thin, good looking and mature. He reportedly quit high school a few months prior to graduation, but eventually took college courses and was a good student. He had a brown belt in karate, and was very flexible and quick. He had worked construction jobs.
He had a younger brother. Religion, ethnic background, and health histories are unknown. Both parents had used marijuana before and during the pregnancy. Usage during the pregnancy was minimal. Both also drank alcohol during the pregnancy. Other drugs have been used by this couple, but supposedly not during the pregnancy. Katherine was in good health during and following her pregnancy, although she had two or three kidney infections. She had mononucleosis several times during her childhood. In 1994, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, cancer of the lymph nodes. She has received chemotherapy for several
months and will begin radiation in August. The prognosis is uncertain at this time. Katherine is presently married and has two sons, ages 2 and 3. Both children are healthy. Extended family health history -maternal grandmother died in 1995 from cancer she had for the last six years. She also had severe arthritis and had several joints replaced. Her maternal grandfather also died from cancer years ago. When Katherine learned she was pregnant, the relationship with the putative father had ended. She had mixed emotions about placing her daughter for adoption. She cared for this child during their hospital stay and was devoted to the baby. She visited her in the foster home prior to signing final surrender papers.
Katherine had no means of support or home where she could successfully parent this child and was without the strength and support of her relatives. She requested this agency place her daughter with a financially and emotionally stable, loving family who would encourage this child to become whatever she was capable of being, without threatening or demeaning her. She requested the family be involved in her daughter's life, allow and encourage sports participation and enjoy family times together. She wanted for her daughter all those things she had been deprived of during her childhood. She remains in contact with the agency at least annually for reassurance her daughter is healthy and happy. Child was born September 28, 1987 at 9:34 AM. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.
