Hi there,
Have you registered with the NYS Adoption Registry? If you are unfamiliar with this, here's a brief description: if you register and request IDENTIFYING information, you will only recieve it if your birthmom or biological father has registered also and consented to contact. So - if both parties register and agree to contact then the registry provides that information. I would strongly suggest that you do...below is a link to their website. http://www.health.state.ny.us/vital_...s/adoption.htm I was born in Syracuse also. If you know which hospital you were born at I would call and request a release of your non-identifying records. This usually requires a notarized letter that includes your social security number. If you know the agency (if any) that placed you I would also contact them and request that they release your non-identifying information. If you do not have information about the hospital where you were born or the agency name you can recieve non-identifying information by registering with the state. Please post with your birthdate and any other non-identifying information! I also have the name of a local "search angel" if you are interested. Send me a private message if you'd like more information. Nicole
