hi

If you were born at Booth Memorial, you can contact the Salvation Army in NYC for your birth medical records. I think you would need some names though. Worth a shot!!! I am an adoptee reunited from NJ though. I think you could go look at birth indexes for NY to get your birth name, not too sure how to do this, but you should try & find out. Just my thoughts!!!!

Thank you

I had heard about the Salvation Army and sent in the form, but I don't have my birth mothers name, so I dont know if they are going to be able to give me anything and I live in Florida now so I am in the process of contacting the NY library to see if I can have the Birth Index for my year sent to me here. Thank you so much for the information. It really is helping. I don't really know what I am going to do with the information once I get all of it. I havent decided if I am even going to contact anyone, I just want to have the information and then go from there. If you don't mind me asking....why did you decide to find your birth parents? And how did your "parents" feel about it? How long did it take you to find all the information and how did you go about contacting your borth parents? I guess let me know if you feel comfortable talking about it. Thank you again for the information.
