ISO of half brother DOB 1/19/71 --spence chapin or louise wise agency
I am trying to find my half brother that I believe was adopted through Spence Chapin Agency (at first was told Louise Wise agency).
The information I have is as follows: His name at birth, I believe, was Shawn. He was born in January 1971. I have sent an email to Spence Chapin Agency to see if they can tell me anything, I am just waiting to hear back from them. If anyone has any information that might be able to help me in this search I would appreciate it greatly. thank you, Jaime Last edited by honee : 12-18-2003 at 11:31 AM. |

SPENCE CHAPIN
IF YOU CAN ANY HELP FROM SPENCE CHAPIN, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD LET ME KNOW. I HAVE BEEN
DOWN THERE AND THEY SAY THE RECORDS ARE SEALED AND CANNOT HELP ME. I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD PUT A NOTE IN THE FILE, JUST IN CASE AN ADOPTEE CAME LOOKING FOR INFO. THEY SAID NO TO THAT ALSO. THANKS, TONI EPSTEIN |

I dealt with Spence-Chapin three years ago and found them most helpful. They were great to me and my brother during our searches. They did put a letter in my file in case my birthmother ever inquired. I know by law that they cannot facilitate a reunion, but I have no doubt that somehow they would have let my bmom know I was looking. Perhaps it depends on the social worker that you have. The one my brother and I had had retired. My cousin is now searching and still waiting on his non-id from Spence-Chapin. Perhaps try to get in contact with a different social worker. I know that they have released non-id to a birthmother about her son's adoptive family.
Good luck in your searches. Jean Ebert Reunited 2001 |

Spence Chapin
I requested info from them and received an answer in under 2 weeks. I agree it depends on the SOcial Worker you contact.
I found them to very helpful, of course, no Identifying info can be given. Good luck. |

END OF THE LINE
I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO FIND MY SON THAT I GAVE UP
FOR ADOPT. THROUGH SPENCE CHAPIN. IT HAS BEEN ABOUT 13 YEARS.THAT I HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY LOOKING. I HEAR THAT THE ONLY CHANCE I HAVE IS TO PAY A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR, OF COURSE, I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY OR THE TRUST TO DO THAT. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. I FEAR ALL HOPE IS LOST. THANK YOU, TONI EPSTEIN |
