Yes it was in Old Town Albuquerque, NM. It was an old building right on the Plaza. I know it was there in 1979 as I was there as an unwed mother. It was a good place! It was a home to approx 10-15 girls at a time. They ranged in age from 12 to 19 when I was there. Becjo

I guess I am running down any possible leads... I know based on my birth certificate that the doctor that delivered me was affiliated with this home. I guess I am looking for some confirmation that my birth mom might have been there... The issue I have is that I was born in Feb 1971, but was later put in a foster home in Anderson IN.

I don't know why such a jump from NM to IN... Was that common that women were brought in from other states? When you were there, did you notice that?

thanks,
rknotts

Heart Searching For Thomas Andrew Smith- birth name

I am trying desperately to find anything on this agency also. I know it is in Albequerque New Mexico. My half brother was adopted out of this center, in the late 70's to early 80's. I am trying to find him, and I have no idea where to look, or how, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. My brother was born Thomas Andrew Smith, although I am not sure of his birth date or place, I know my mom was 18 when she had him and she was born in 1959. His birth was supposedly one of the first medically documented of it's kind, as he was four months premature. My mother was told that he was born blind and deaf, but she swears this wasn't true, as she didn't put him up for adoption until he was over a year old. He recieved social security from birth until he was placed at Chaparral Adoption Agency. I am very eager to learn more about my brother, and would like any help. I have photos of my brother as a baby. From the pictures he would have blond hair and blue or green eyes. Anyone who knows anything about this adoption please contact me at risha2_22@yahoo.com
