Hello everyone!
We have a beautiful 10 month old baby girl who was placed with us on 9/24. She is an absolulte joy and we love having her. My question is about monthly board rates as we've had a lot of expenses. When should we receive our first check? Should we have received something for September (only a week) or will we receive it in November? Thanks! -Kate

Checks usually come around the 10th of the month - for the previous month. You should have received one in October for the week you had her in September. Since you didn't, you need to the let the worker know so they can do a manual voucher for the payment. It will not occur automatically and just be added in your November check. For one-time type expenses, that always seem to be highest at the beginning of a placement - such as car seats, stroller, crib - talk to your worker about reimbursement. There are $ limits for the items, but even if you get back less than what you paid, its still something, and definitely helps. Good luck with the baby - what county are you in??

Thanks so much for your response! I appreciate knowing that it won't be automatically added in to the November check. I hate to seem greedy, but the extra cash would help offset some of the expenses. Especially since I just cannot stop buying this sweetheart cute stuff!
