Matched! Next Steps...
I'm still getting over the shock of it but wanted to report we've been matched for adoption! Since we're in the fetal stage, I won't post particulars but wanted to share the news.
![]() Our next step is a supervisory meeting with the caseworker, supervisor, and nurse (this is a SHSP child) at our home. We had this visit (but only by the caseworker) before our daughter's adoption but I wonder if experiences differ. Can anyone remember their supervisory visit? Any questions you think are key to ask? I want to make sure we're prepared. Thanks, in advance, for your insight! Jennifer

Good for you
You just never know with this process. Matched already, wow.

Thank you so much. I know--we're just totally floored. I think the supervisory visit will allow us to make sure that all of the medical needs of this particular child are what we currently understand them to be. We certainly don't want to take on more than we can handle as that won't do anyone any good. But for now, it sounds promising so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
An aside that may be of interest to everyone: I just learned for the first time that medically fragile children can attend Pediatric Medical Daycare full-time. (I had never even heard of a Pediatric Medical Daycare before.) This may be of interest because it relieves SHSPs of the burden of 24/7 care so a parent/(s) can still work. This may or may not be the case with the little one we're considering but just throwing it out there as a point of interest.
