sqweaky wheel

I became the sqweaky wheel today and after 14 months with no placements I complained. The placement worker said he hasnt had anything lately. Guess what? an hour later he calls me with a possible placement for a 1 month old baby boy.....3 hours later he was in my home. I guess the sqweaky wheel gets the grease!!!!

I can't believe you waited 14 months with no placements before complaining. I complain if I go 4 weeks without a new placement (and I have 3 already). You are far more patient that I.

Congratulations on your new little guy.

Congratulations!

Just curious- what county are you from? We just passed our home inspection and are awaiting our license. We are in Monmouth County and I'm hoping for a placement soon. So happy for you tho!

I actually called the FAFS on tuesday since I have been licensed since May and have yet to get a call. Well I talked to the person that deals with my county and what do you know within an hour I get a call for 2 sibblings. But the placement has been put on hold. Apparently they were in the office when I talked to the facilitator and told me they would call back with the time frame. Then an hour later called my house and my husband was home, they were suppose to call my cell. Anyhow they talked to my husband and they told him they were giving grandmother supervised visits at home with the kids. I think they told him 4 hours a day there woudl be someone there supervising the children with the grandmother. Apparently my worker dont believe it will work so she told us to give it a few days and if it goes south we would be the first call they make. Apparenlty the grandmother was the one that turned them into DYFS in the first place as she couldnt handle the two children. I called my agency Just Babies and talked to Pat she told me if I dont hear from them by Monday to call them to get an update. She said if you dont get the girls at least they will have my name in their head. So I guess we will see I mean its only been 2 days. Any suggestions or opinions?

Kim
