Finding doctors who take Medicaid.

You'd think DYFS would have a list - it sure beats everyone having to spend the same time on making the same phone calls. Geez!!!!

Does anyone know of an opthamologist and a dentist that takes medicaid?? (Somerset/Hunterdon, Middlesex, Union, Morris Counties)

Thanks!!

The NJ medicaid site should list drs who take it. I found that as for dentists the best is UMDNJ in Newark. They're great with kids and very understanding of the crazy dental paperwork that needs to be approved.

You should be able to apply for an HMO for the foster child, which makes finding doctors much easier.

Madfostermomma!!!

Debi is a godsend! It's all too elaborate to bore you with but she's great, she's helping me, and I've found out I'm doing the case worker's job on quite a few issues.

Don't lose her number!!

Boy do I remember those days. I sat on the insurance web site making one phone call after the other looking for a doctor then a dentist.
Many on the list didn't take the insurance anymore.
