Don't get your hopes up too high yet. Being transferred over to the preadoptive unit is good, but still not out of the woods yet. They are just look for permanency for him, and that will hopefully be with you. But family members, etc., still have to be looked out, searched for, etc., and then you still have the waiting game on whether or not bio-parents will surrender, do an identified surrender, or will the judge do TPR.
Keep us posted!

what is an identified surrender??
Thank you for your response I did just speak with LG who said we are only ones right now considered and the names parents have given all have priors or crimal backgrounds so we will see

A surrender is where the bio-parents will just surrender their rights in general to the child. An identified surrender is where the bio-parents will surrender their rights to the child but will name a person to adopt (i.e., yourself) and of course, you know that TPR is termination of parental rights, which is done by the Judge.
Keep us posted! Good luck!

Tammi - it is so nice to someone who adopted all of their kids through the system- When you are going through this it seems like it will never happen! Kids that are supposed to stay go and others take forever. We're in the waiting mode for trial on our boys now. Our new placements it's a shot in the dark - could turn fost adopt but then again nobody knows- investigating family and such.
