Haven't Posted in a While
Just wanted to give everyone an update on our situation. The girls have now been with us almost ten months. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done, but I think we are starting to see glimmers of breakthrough especially for our oldest. I am enjoying the summer very much as we don't really have any set routine and my phone is not ringing everyday with a teacher on the other end. I am dreading September and would much rather homeschool G then send her to public school. But we all know I am unable to do that with the state regulations.
We still have not heard anything regarding the appeal and have decided to just keep moving forward, but it is hard to know that this is always hanging over our heads. It went to the appeals court on April 25th. WE are told it can take 1 month to 1 year for the Judges to review the case. So we are now 3 months into it with no news. Hopefully by next summer we will be able to finalize. Just an update for everyone. Hope all are doing well.

We are waiting for our appeal too that was filed about the same time as yours. C's Birthmother has hired a private attorney according to his worker.

Ok, I an the third one waiting on an Appeal that went to Cumberland County courts on April 14th. With the state shutdown, I am sure there is an even longer delay. Plus, I heard Family court goes on vacation in August. We were told we should be able to finalize around Christmas. This process is ridiculous. All of our paperwork is complete and sitting in limbo.
We are going to meet our son's half sister in a few weeks. They asked us if we were interested in fostering/adopting her. I am concerned on many levels regarding this little girl. I know the kids should stay together but my heart is telling me her special needs will exceed what we can provide. I am so confused!!! |
