Child Abuse Hotline
OK I had a call made on me by the driver of one of my foster children that I was neglecting one of my several foster children. Now I have had an investigator come out, am suspended from fostering new children till resource clears me (average 60 days), and all of the alligations are totally false. I know the driver lied because my child didn't have a visitation that day she reported, no driver has ever been actually IN my home (my child gets picked up at school and dropped off there once a week), and I have taken lessons on hair care with professionals to know how to properly groom my child. But that one disgruntled person who apparently is angry I called several times to her boss to say she's late picking up at the school and rude to my child in my presence, could call the hotline and give me such fear of losing my children (biological included) really makes me angry. Has anyone else gone through this process of investigation OR know if this driver will be punished for making false alligations?

Some time ago, a friend of mine was providing a holiday home for a 2-year-old boy, who arrived with a wound on his leg and blisters on his heels -the wound from play and blisters from the sandals he was sent with. He had a visit with his bio family while in my friend's care and they reported her based on the wounds, etc. They claimed that the little boy told them he was being abused.
Despite the wounds being documented on the child medical form before the baby was placed with my friend, the claim was opened an investigator indeed came out. The investigator apparently viewed the wounds in question and observed the little boy in her home and concluded that there was nothing out of the ordinary for a 2-year-old active toddler. Nonetheless, they forgot to close the case and she didn't recieve calls, etc. for some time after that until she somehow found out that the claim was still open. They should give you ample opportunity to present your side of the story and clear your name. If your children are old enough to be interviewed, I imagine they will be. Since this is a false alegation I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.
