Hello!

I was born May 3rd, 1976 in Paterson NJ.
My biological mother was around 15/16 when she gave birth. I believe it was around 5:15 pm when I was born.

I am searching for her now. I don't have much information at all. I was 4 lbs. 2 oz I think. I was born with ileitis which is a blockage in the intestines and as far I know I was taken from her and put right into the emergency room for the operation. I was a bald baby, also incubated (i assume). I was with a Foster Mother by the name of Pat Berchack (spelling?) who now lives in GA. I was adopted at 3 months old to a wonderful family. I lived in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey until 1986 then moved to Maryland, I couldn't ask for better. I'm searching, to thank her, and find out about my medical history. I'm currently still living in Maryland. I need answers, I'm lost. There is an empty space inside that needs to be filled.

Have you tired the NJ Adoption Reunion Registry yet? I thought you may like the information incase you havent registered there yet.

Using the Adoption Registry:
The following persons may use the registry: adopted adults, adoptive parents of minor adoptee, and birth parents. At the request of an adopted adult, or of a minor adoptee with permission from his or her adoptive parents, the registry will conduct a search for birth relative(s) who have not registered.

Good luck on your search! I am currently in the process of searching myself. I was born on 5/30/76 in NJ and now currently live in Maryland as well. It looks like we are trying to search along the same avenues! Best of luck to you

I got a call on Thursday, stating I was adopted through them. I had sent a letter basically stating what was in my 1st post.
Anyway the women had told me she was going to send me an application because she needed some type of ID, and I send the application back with as much info as I know and she sends me the info she has. It's a 6 month turnaround though. I had told her I've been searching this long, I could wait another 6 months. Now they don't give names or anything like that, but If I deside I wanted to search, the would do it for me. The will send me the information on why they gave me up, some medical I believe. BEST PART.... IT'S FREE!!!!
