Surprised that you have no luck with Cedar Knolls agency - I would suggest you call back there again and ask for Gloria Smith - She's a great social worker who was able to help me re-unite with my daughter. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the reply. The Children's Aid Soc. just really seemed that it was all about the money for releasing information. At this time in my life I am in the middle of opening a business and it is not first on my list of things to spend money on... although I would LOVE to find my mother... it is not imperative....Congrats on being reunited with your daughter...Did it cost you a lot of money to find your daughter? Did you go directly through them? They wont even just look in my folder to see if my mother has ever dropped a note to be contacted or not without an initial payment of $400.00!! Thanks..

Sorry I'm just getting back to you but I believe we paid around $400 - they did have a backlog at the time we started looking and I think it took about 5-6 months after payment before they contacted me - I hope you can pursue this - we wrote a check so I don't know if they have any other options for payment (c/card, etc.). They really did a wonderful job helping me - I hope you can pursue this and that your Mom will be willing to see you. We birthmothers as a whole are so interested in the lives of those children that we were unable to care for and want so much to just know that you are even alive. I hope and pray that your birthmom is like most of us. Keep me posted. Charlene
