Hi Sarah,
I emailed and followed the email up with a call the Newark Public Library and requested a search. They are more inclined if you have specific info as a lead. Good Luck. -NJD |

Hi Sarah,
I apologize for being so long in responding to you, but I am really bad about checking my email on a daily basis. To answer your question, if you are an adoptee looking for information about the circumstances around your adoption, you can write to Delores Helb, Adoption Registry Coordinator at The Office of Resource Family and Adoption Support; Box 717; Trenton, N.J 08625. Request your non-identifying information. There is a form that you will need to complete and it available on line. Ms. Helb's phone number is: (609) 292-8816 and I have found her to be very responsive. I also contacted the Newark Public Library because I am a foundling, and I was looking for a newspaper article that was written and posted on the day that I was discovered. I emailed the Library and gave them the information from my non-identifying information which referenced the date that the article appeared. It took about two weeks, but once the article was located the Library staff emailed me. There was a copy fee for the article which was (I think) about $15. Again, I found the staff to be very responsive both by phone and email. I hpoe this information is useful, Sarah. I know how difficult and frustrating it can be to try and get things done long distance. Good luck with your search. Notjanedoe |
