Good Morning New Hampshire!

How fun to be the first to post!

I'll kick things off with an introduction:

Married mother of two girls, 15 and 8, fostering to adopt our niece, 7, from another state. FD/niece has been with us since July '05.

Anyone else from NH out there?

Good morning! Originally from New Hampshire, and now living ten minutes below the border. I am a birthmother who is just beginning my search to see what I can find out, and I am so completely overwelmed and dont really know where to start. My beautiful baby girl was born on May 13, 1987 in Nashua, only a few miles from the same hospital I was born in almost 38 yrs ago. Any advise and/or encouragement would be greatly appreciated as I am scared to death and second guess myself at every turn.

Coastal NH here

Hi.. Julie here from coastal NH.. Love to meet others in the area! Got a great group started!

Just wanted to pass this along too.. for those of you who are local!

Peace Julie

Safe Passage means~ the hope of a journey out of poverty, into
opportunity and self sufficiency~ ! Please read on....

I am sure some of you have heard of Hanley Denning who passed away
last year while serving her passion in Guatemala helping those who
are less fortunate. Hanley was tragically hit by one of those
infamous chicken buses.. her and her driver instantly died! Hanley
might have died but, her mission lives on. It began with the sale
of her computer and her car and some serious passion... voila, she
created Safe Passage. It began with, forty Children in a single room
church in 1999 to a 16 million budget and 600 children served to
date... and the amazing journey has just begun.

Ok.. so I went to see the documentary in South Berwick called,
Recycled Life.. OMG.. talk about gut retching and make you cry! If
you are at all interested in volunteering or helping making a
difference in someone's life, especially those who may not be as
fortunate as us!.. check it out! I cried, I shook my head.. I vowed
to make a difference.. and my husband left saying.. "I saw our
daughter in each and every one of those kids"! It was so sad.. and
such an incredible story!

For those of you who are not familiar with Guatemala, a country
very near and dear to my heart~ Recycled life is a documentary on
the families that scavenge and dwell in the largest dump in Central
America, which happens to be in Guatemala! These generations of
families, year after year, search for food, recyclables to cell,
wares and materials to build their homes. And its sooooo soooo
sad... ! I can't remember the exact number of people who dwell
there.. but, the number floored me! The toxic chemicals that seep
out of the years and years of layered trash and the absolute ****
that they eat is enough to make you sick!

I highly recommend seeing this documentary and seeing how hard
some people have it.. if just that! It amazes me that this true
poverty really still exists~ But, if you have a heart for central
America...or the worlds suffering people... it's a great project to
know about!

At the Big O music and Arts Festival, there will be 21
independent local musicians... visual artists, artisans galore,
kayaking, food, fun and celebrating for all... in a beautiful
location in South Berwick.. ! Tickets are $25 in advanced... $30 at
the gate. The date is June 23rd. The event starts at 11am and ends
at 8pm... for more info.. check this link below out..

http://www.safepass age.org/the- big-o-music- arts-festival

I absolutely positively plan to attend!

See we can all make a difference if we really want to..!!!

Food for though!

Julie

Talking Introduction

Hi,

I'm new to forum. My name is Ann-Marie. I live in Epping, NH. I waited for the right man to have children with. Married in 2001, DH (Barry) has one bio child (Jocelyn - age 12) and one adopted (Lindsay Age 17). Tried to have a child of our own for 1 year. Tried infertility treatments for 1 1/2 years until 2nd IVF and Breast cancer diagnosis - Survived! Started researching adoption in 2006. Signed with Wide Horizons for Children in April 2007.

I work in Portsmouth as an LNA. Barry is a Durham Firefighter. Both of the girls are active in band, colorguard, chorus and tumbling. Jocelyn is also a cheerleader.

We are now submitting our dossier requirements for authenication.

Welcome, Ann-Marie. So far we haven't got much action going here, but it's good to know we have a place to come for NH issues (if they arise.
