adoption search

Hi,

Lutheran Family Services offers search assistance. I believe their search consultant is named Tammy. I can get you her info if you'd like. They do charge a fee, $250, I believe.

Let me know if I can help in any way...I located my birth family in 1999 and am familiar with the process.

Best of luck,
Stacey

Hi,
I have checked into having them do a search back in 1996. It was $60 an hour for any kind of search and I have no idea how long it would take for them to find out anything. Then if it turns out to be many hours then it will be big bucks. Was the $250 all you had to pay for the whole process? How long did it take them to find out info? My adopted parents are wonderful. I was 2 months when they adopted me. They have even offered to help pay because they said they would be curious if it was them. But I don't want them to have to pay a lot of money either. I may give the agency a call anyway. Thanks for the help.
Angela

Nancy,
Did you give a baby up for adoption through Lutheran Family Services in Omaha? If you did please call me. I think you might be my birth mom. I just found out my birth mothers name is Nancy and that is all I know. Lutheran Family Services has my number or you can call me at 402-499-8703. I gave up on this site and haven't checked it til today.

Nancy, Never mind the question. You and my birth mother do have the same first name but I found out today it is not you. Just a coincidence that you two have the same first name.

The person to contact at Lutheran Family Services in Omaha is Maggie Milner. Yes, there is a $250.00 search fee.

I have recently been blessed with contact and a meeting with my son (born May 1971).

Good Luck! Kim

Did you request your non ID information? They have to give you that. I wouldn't pay that fee. If you ever find her name contact Social Security they will forward a letter to her.
