Working with NE H&HS
Ok...I've been working with Health and Human Services since July in search of my birth family...I received a notice in September that they had a possible birth family match...They obtained a marriage certificate...and that was the last I had heard...until today.
I broke down and sent an e-mail to Rita Krusemark and she responded back with: Our staff assistant, Nancy, and I have been attempting to locate persons bearing your mother's name. Unfortunately we keep hitting brick walls. We are continuing to attempt contact with these persons. I hope to receive a response soon. As soon as I get a response or locate some one I will let you know. I don't want to get your hopes up, because we are really grasping at straws at this point, but I do not want to close your search yet. I still have some hope left that maybe one of the names will come through. Thanks. So what should I expect if they don't find her? Will I get any information or will I be back at square one! I knew this was going to be frustrating, but I guess I had no idea. I guess I just want to know if there is anyone out there that has gone through H&HS and didn't find a match?? |

Well, answered my own question here...NOTHING!!
I just want to say that those of you going through an agency, who have inforamtion, are lucky! The state doesn't have any information (not even non-id). When they feel they have searched enough (not saying that they didn't try) they send you a cold, photocopied with your name handwritten at the top, letter that says that they were not able to find anyone and that all the inforamtion they did receive, you can't have! GRRR!!! I just keep hoping that they did make some contact and my Bmom has chosen to not respond back. This way, I know that she knows that I am interested in finding her, and in her own due time she will make the decision to find me. In the mean time I am just going to go on about my life the way I had before I dediced to go down this road...but probably a little happier knowing I tried! |

maybe i can help
Why wouldn't they give you the non id info?I went through the same thing through the state. They said they know her name but dont know where she is because they only search nebraska.I don't know why they can't put her name on people search and see if they can find her.I know she moved out of ne after I was born.Have you searched newspapers where you were born. The libraries usually have them.Or check with the hospital for records.I haven't done that ye because you can't let them know your adopted. And I know the dept. head.
