That is a good idea. Also call the Vital Statistics office in Lincoln, NE they have a department that handles searches. They are able to get your records from the courthouse and make a couple attempts at contacting her. If that doesn;t work petition the court for you consent of adoption papers. I tried quite a few times before they gave me mine. After I knew my birth name, it took less than an hour to contact my birthmother. Good luck and let me know how it works out. juliekathy2004@yahoo.com. I am searching for my brothers birthparents. He was born March 4, 1972 in Omaha ne. Good luck

I am looking for my husbands birthmother. He was born on Dec. 14 1969 in Basset, Nebraska. He was adopted from Omaha , Ne. Nebraska Childrens Home Society on January 15,1970. We know he has siblings and mom was 27 and had no money to raise another child. We are interested in finding her and knowing the siblings if possible. It was a closed adoption & can't get info from the home. Anybody have any ideas on how to proceed?

Hi John:

Can you look an see if there is any information on Michael Sund or Mike Sund aroun November of 1982. He is my birth father but passed away in a hospital in Omaha. He was in rock bands. Mu brother who was adopted was born March 4, 1972 in Omaha. Let me know if you can find the birth listings for him. I have petitioned the courts and talked to Rita at Health Dept and they won't give me the consent or any infor on my brother.

Did you request the non identifying information from the Ne Children's Home? Basset Nebraska has to be very small I am willing to bet somebody around there remembers something. You'd be surprised how much people around a town like that know. Are you still in the area? I'd go have coffee at the town café and ask around be sure you give your phone number to a few of the older people just in case they all of a sudden remember something. If you know what I mean lol The lady working at city hall might be another one to ask IF there is a city hall. How about running a small ad in their newspaper. Son seeking birth mother and your phone number. Hope this helps...it's worth a try!

Did you ask Rita for the non identifying information? Do you know where your father is buried at? Do you know his parents ...your grandparents? If you don't try getting a birth certificate for your father It will list who they are and if they are still alive they might have some information. Do you know your mother's name? Sorry for all of the questions but more information would help me on giving you advice as to what steps you might be able to take to find your brother. My email is bblady1@msn.com Thanks Teresa
