Come Wiki With Us
First, what's a wiki? It's an online collection of knowledge that draws on contributions from people with knowledge to share. It's built on technology that allows contributore to collaborate by adding to pages that have already been started, or by creating new pages that invite additional knowledge.
The Adoption Wiki is ... well, about adoption and related topics, and if you go to the Main Page, you'll see a list of pages that have already been started and new topics (red) that haven't been started yet. With contributions from people whose experiences cover every aspect of adoption, the Adoption Wiki will grow to be an important destination for those seeking information. What can you contribute? It can be a huge researched article about, say, dossiers in international adoption. Or it could be an article about dossiers for Guatemala. Or it could be a paragraph that starts an article about dossiers, or a few words that clarify the apostille process. It could be an additional piece of important information in an existing page, or an entire additional section of an article. You know quite a bit, and this is a great opportunity to put that knowledge to use and reach a wide audience who can benefit from it. Visit the Adoption Wiki, learn how it works, and add your knowledge. We often talk about the need for a better understanding of processes, procedures, outcomes, and details. This is the adoption community's opportunity to create a core of information drawing on our collective experience, to give a well-rounded presentation. There is a "Community" area for personal stories and questions, and there are several major categories of topics and subtopics. No matter how focused your experience with adoption might be, there's a place on the Adoption Wiki for you, and I invite you to come wiki with us. Adoption Wiki
