Mood Stabilizer for 2 1/2 yr old

Our 2 1/2 yr old has been diagnosed with "Rule Out Mood Disorder, Rule out AD/HD, and Rule out ODD." Has anyone ever heard of a child this young being put on a mood stabilizer. Did it help? What are the dangers? I don't feel educated enough to make a decision on whether or not to allow it. Her behavior is so challenging and we'd love to see her get help. We are doing family therapy with her, behavioral charting, first steps, OT, speech, etc.... but now they want to try meds. I'm scared. I don't want to do anything that could hurt her. Can someone help?

OMG that is terrifying that a baby would be put on mood stabilizers. I would do a lot of research online if I were you and maybe ask for a 2nd opinion.

This is actually our third opinion. First & second opinion has said the same thing. I'm frightened for what this little girl's future holds.

Poor baby I know that has to be so scary for you. I've never heard of a child that young being medicated(however I'm no expert either).

I hope you find the right treatment for her.
