Question for MO. searchers

I got a list of people born on 12/9/1970, from the state of MO. I am searching for my brother born on this date. Does anyone out there have any info as to the accuracy of these lists?

Birthdate registers

I recently requested a list for the birthdate 4-22-82 to find my daughter that I placed for adoption. Her adoptive name was on the list.

Thank you so much for your reply. It's comforting to know someone is listening. Did it list a first name? There is one name on the list that only has a last name. Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you -Katie

I would like to know how to get a list of children born in missouri from 1959 to late early 1960 I am a sibling of 11 children and most of which were given up for adoption in there younger years. I have been lucky enough to trace down and contact all but one and i am the next to the youngest so was uncertain to the reception i would recieve. But all went very well and have had the honor to meet all of them and plan on it again.
Any information to how i can get a list of missouri adoptions for that period would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Linda

good luck to you all
God Bless

If you contact MO. dept of family services @573-751-6010, I spoke with Sheila Murphy, you can get a list of people born on a specific date for $27.50. The names are the only info listed.

List of names from the state

Sheila Murphy is the one I dealt with too. The list I received had first, middle and last names. I crossed off all the names of the males, then all the names that seemed ethnic. This lowered the odds a little. I went to a web site like "Intelius" to see if the person was listed in MO with that date of birth. A little process of elimination seemed to go a long way. My daughter was adopted to a Belguin family so I knew if I didn't find her name on the United States listing it might be her. I hope that helps.

Your information was really helpful! Do they have a list that would work "backwards" like if I was looking for the name of my birthmother? Please let me know.

Lookinf for birthmom

Hi Alissa, What kind of info do you have on your birthmom? Name, birthdate, address? There are a lot of places to look people up. Let me know and I will see if I know of a website that might help. Chrissy

Birth indexes

So are you saying the childs ammended (adoptive name) would be on this list? Does anyone know about this scenario....

My cousins were born in Missouri in 1954 & 1955. They were orphaned & adopted in 1959-early 1960 when they were 5 & 6 yrs. old.

Since they weren't "infants" when they were adopted, do you know if the birth index would show their birth name or adopted name?
I will gladly pay the $27 because I think it would be worth it, but to pay $54 to get both the indexes, just to see their birth names on there would be frustrating, since I already know all that information.

I want to find their adopted names and I think they went to the same family, and HOPEFULLY the adoptive parents kept their first names the same (since they were 5 & 6 when they were adopted and already knew what their names were). My male cousin had a very unusual German first name.
Thanks!
Karmen

what luck, I was just going to sign off. One requests a certain date in the year i.e. January 1 1955 and you will receive a list of all the children born on this date in missouri. Their first and last names. What part of missouri are you looking in ? I live in Missouri

Lafayette Co.

My cousins were born in Lafayette Co. Missouri.
Another thing I'm confused about is whether they are listed under their adopted names & the County that the adoptive parents live in? Oh well, worth a shot either way I guess.
Can you get the lists cheaper if you go yourself & get them??
Thanks again!
Karmen

it is not sort by gender or race nor counties

The list is by names on birth certificates. IF they amended the birth certificate then that would be the name if not the it would be the orginal. And I work for the state and I will still be charged the same price

Thanks!

Thanks for your replies, you have been very helpful.
I have cousins who live in Concordia & Independence, and thought maybe one of them could get the lists for me cheaper... I guess not!

There was a bunch of "scandal" surrounding the parents deaths and it was such a small town, that is part of why they didn't let the children go to anyone in either birth family. It seems like back in the 50's everything was a scandal though, lol
I just worry that they adopted them out of the State to get them away from it all.

I guess since they were born in Missouri, than those certificates would still need to be ammended, reguardless of what State they lived in after adoption.

I am just going to go for it, I have nothing to lose really. Except some money, but finding them is worth it. I think the lists will help me trace them. NOW I am excited!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again!
Karmen
