WELCOME TO THE SEARCH AND REUNION MESSAGE BOARD!
NOTICE: Missouri is a “Confidential Intermediary” state. See “Requesting Identifying Information” below: Requesting Identifying Information: An adopted adult can request information regarding the birth parents and the agency will contact the birth parents for consent to release the information. If the adoption was finalized prior to August 13, 1986, the adoptive parents must be notified first, and a search will only be conducted if the adoptive parents agree. If the adoptive parents do not consent, no information will be released and the birth parents will not be contacted. Contact this office for questions about adoption related information and records: Missouri Department of Social Services Division of Family Services PO Box 88 Jefferson City, MO 65103 (573) 751-0311 Fax: (573) 526-3971 Requesting Non-Identifying Information: Adoptive parents and adopted adults may obtain non-identifying information. Contact the adoption agency that facilitated the adoption, the court that finalized the adoption or the office above in Jefferson City, MO. Using the State of Missouri Adoption Registry: Adopted adults age 21 or older and birth parents may register. Adoptive parents must consent to the release of identifying information on adoptions completed prior to August 13, 1986. Contact: Missouri Division of Family Services Adoption Information Registry P.O. Box 88 Jefferson City, MO 65103 (800) 554-2222 Please mark the letter "Confidential." Requesting an Original Birth Certificate: An adoptee must petition the court in which the adoption was finalized to receive. NOTE: The Missouri Birth List/Index gives the first and last names of everyone born in all the Counties of Missouri on a particular day. The adopted name will be on this list but not the birth name. Is there an email address/postal address to contact for the list of all children born a certain day in MO for $27? If so, will this be the original birth certificates with birthparents names & addresses? We already have one with his adoptive parents names. They will not cooperate.

Missouri Vital Stats List or Births
If you need to obtain a list from Missouri, send $27.50 to:
Bureau of Vital Records Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services 930 Wildwood P.O. Box 570 Jefferson City, MO 65102-0570 (573) 751-6387 This is the information that I have to order this list. All adoptees are listed by their adoptive/ammended names. Even those that weren't adopted immediately at birth but later on will be there by ammended/adoptive name. There are no addresses listed on this list. You can write your letter something like this but since you are searching for birthnames this list wouldn't be of use to you. Attention: Ms. Sheila Murphy Research Analyst III Center for Health Information Dear Ms. Murphy, I am requesting a list of births in the State of Missouri for the following date:_________________. I am interested in receiving the names as they appear on the final birth file. (which I understand is the procedure you follow.) I have enclosed a check/money order in the amount of $27.50 to cover the fees of processing this document. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, ___________________________ ____________________ (Signature (Date) ____________________________ (Print Name) Name Address City State Zip Code Last edited by Seababe : 12-05-2004 at 11:40 AM. |

locating birth parents
In 2003 I hired a well known PI to conduct a search for me after the CI at CC had exhausted all efforts to get a response from my bmom who had got the correspondence.
What I would like to do is learn the name of my bfather. I did speak to the bmom in Sept of 2003 and she would not tell me his name saying she didn't know who he was that I was the result of rape. Nevertheless, on the non id info there was a name and address which was whited out but the identifying info such as ht, wt, age, race etc was there.. Is there some way to find out his name., The PI said at the present there was no access to the information. I have used the information I have plus what I have found doing my own genealogy work to order death certificates for some members ( grandparents and an aunt on the bmom side) but other than that I am stuck. Any ideas anyone? |

Does the information on this birth index contain the names of the biological mother and father or is it going to end up being the adoptive parents. Also, where does one send for this and how do you know what date or dates to request? We know some birthdays are accurate but others are not. Advice please. thanks
