somebody please answer this question

Do the adopted parents get non-identifying info given to them when they adopt a child about the birth mom and dad? just wondering this. Cause I never found any after my adopted parents died. found my adoption papers, not much info on them either, not even a time of birth, everything was changed, my birth cerfificate was changed, name, city I was born everything. This is bad when adoptions are closed. Thanks

I know that my parents were given a bit of non-id info, but it was given verbally. There was nothing in writing.

The amended birth certificate I have does not have any info on it either - no time of birth, weight, place, nothing. But I did end up getting a much more detailed birth cert. I needed a copy of my b Cert when I got married. I couldn't find it. (I found it later). So I requested a new copy from the state (NY). The copy they gave me had ALOT more information on it - place, time, weight and the fact that I was her first child.

Maybe you can try to get your b cert from the state (If you were born in the US).

Mary

Question depends

I have been involved in two adoptions. One was mine and my parents of me, and they recieved no ID at all.. The other was my Daughter and she was 4yrs old when I adopted her, so we had all of the ID we needed. So my story has a 50/50 chance.
Good luck to you, and may God bless you with his grace.

Smile Non ID Info

I was adopted. Born 1981. I have read my adoption papers and there is some info in my papers. For example There is a history of asthma, I know the color of my birthmothers hair, and her eyes, how tall she was and how much she weighed at the time I was born. This is not much but at least I know something...enough to make the assumption that I look like my birthmother.

I wish you luck in finding the info that you need.

Sheila
