Hi, I am looking for any birth relatives that see this post can help me. My sister was born on July 9th, 1964 in Hennipin County, Minnestosta and given the name Colleen, last name Green. She was in the our birth parents home until I was born on June 26th, 1965 in Hennipin County the atate of Minnesota. I was given the name Maureen Louise Green. According to Lutheran Social Sevices of Minneapolis, Minnesota I was placed in a Foster home at birth along with my sister. We remained in the Foster home until June 7th, 1967 when we went to live in our new adoptive parents home according to origianl adoption papers. According to LSS of Minneaplolis the break up of our parents who were married I beleive, was do to Alchoholism and therefore the disinigration of our family. Please if this sounds familiar please contact me at 715- 835-7651 and ask for Ann. Or email me at apardun@charter.net I am the second child born on June 26th, 1965. |

Hi! I did know some who did fostercare then..but one couple has passed away and the other has moved. Your story does not sound familiar..I so wish I could be of some help. As I have said before, there were many babies in fostercare back then. LSS did have county babies too..That is, they provided fostercare and found adoptive homes for some Hennepin and Ramsey County situations. Ususally, if kids were toddlers or older the County was involved. Thanks for trying and for contacting me. Blessings on your journey, AnnaE

Would you happen to know who may have information about LSS babies for the time frame spring to summer 1969?
Thank you |

You can ask LSS themselves..They have postadoption social workers. The name of your fosterparents should be in your file and I could maybe help after that if I recognized the name. The problem with 1969 is that many of those fosterparents are dead. (My mother who did the LSS care in the 70's is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's disease). Fortunately, I was a teen and young adult then and I have the memory , pictures and records. I wish I could be of more help. There were abot 50 foster homes back then with LSS. Now there are 3! Blessings, AnnaE

I don't recall the Gundersons. Was this MN? They may have indeed done fostercare but there were 50 homes back then. Have you talked to the post adoption unit at LSS? They would be able to answer some questions. If you are from Mn there is a website called Reunitingminnesota@yahoo.com which would try to help. They have search angels which are great. Good-luck and blessings to you ,AnnaE

could I be one?
Hello.
My name is Rachel. I was born on May 1st, 1978. and adopted later that month. I'm not sure if I stayed in a foster home, but I'm trying to find family, and people who took care of me. I know that some states change birthdates to throw off any search for adoptees, birthparents etc. I'm not sure if that goes for Minnesota. I hope you find whoever you're looking for. God Bless, Rachel |

Hi Rachel, Once again your birthdate doesn't match our foster babies but thanks so much for responding. I truly doubt that any birthdates were changed in MN during this time period. A mistake could have been made in that we had babies where we didn't know the birthdate and sometimes there could have been a misprint or whatever but not intentional. I would assume you were in a foster home for a few weeks prior to your adoption. However, it is also possible your birthparent could have had you also and then decided she couldn't care for you properly. This happened occasionally. I wish you the best on your journey. Blessings, AnnaE

I was born 9/3/71 and was adopted out through Lutheran Social Services. I was with a foster family for approximately 4 months.

Hi! I checked out your birthdate and no match. It is frustrating to never find one of our babies just as it must be for you. If you were in LSS fostercare for 4 months, there are pictures of you somewhere for sure. The fosterhomes were good ones and I am sure they loved you. Did your adoptive family meet your fosterparents? Blessings to you and thanks so much for responding. AnnaE
