Anyone adopt while stationed at Ft Irwin, CA?

My DH and I arrived in Fort Iwrin 2 months ago and are considering adoption. Has anyone adopted while stationed here? Do you have advice? Thanks!

My husband and I live in Ft/Irwin and we are in the process of adopting. We only have the cpr/first aid course to do before having all of the requirements done before the homestudy. Its been a long journey for us because of my husband having to be in the field so much, and not to mention having to travel to victorville for every class. We are very excited and hoping to adopt 2 small little girls.

I live in San Diego and adopted using a Facilitator here. She is WONDERFUL and we got our son in 4 months because she limites the number of couples she works with. I am not sure of how far Ft. Irwin is, but if you could make it out to a few visits with her, she is worth it. E-mail me at Heidi257@aol.com if you want her info.

Best of luck!

Fort Irwin Adoptions

My husband and I became Foster Parents through the County in hopes to adopt. Due to all of the field rotations it took us a long time to get certified but we have been for a year now and we were just placed today. I know of a few other families on post who are either in the process of adoption or have recently completed the process. It is long but completely do-able and worth it.
