Korean Adoption
Hi;
I am currently statioined in Korea and am going to adopt my Korean Neice. She is ten years old and a Korean Citizen. Both of her parents are Korean. I am told that I wont be able to take her to the US for two years after the adoption is finalized. I have enough time on my DEROS and that is OK. How do I get her a SSN so I can claim her on my taxes. Do I have to get her a ITIN first or can I get her a SSAN? Also, I was told that the military will reimburse some expenses. How do I go about that? Thanks for your help. Pat
