I'm searching for my B/Daughter, born 9-20-1977 in Mercy Hospital, San Diego, California. I briefly knew Mom who was supposed to have adopted my daughter. Her husband was in the military, either Marines or Navy.
Through my searches and new information I have come to believe the adoption of my daughter may not have gone through, at least not in California.
The adoption process started through Mercy Hospital's Catholic Services, but there is no amended birth record for my daughter under any adopted name in California.
The information I do have and know is as follows:
My daughter was born September 20, 1977 in Mercy Hospital, San Diego. The hospital is now Scrippts Mercy.
My daughter's name at birth was Heather L. The supposed adopted Mom and I picked the name Heather together.
The A/Mom in her mid twenties at time of Heather's birth, around 5'4" - 5"5" and slender build. I don't recall what the A/father looked like.
A/Mom had cancer health issues. This could have caused a problem for the adoption process.
A/Mom was in a type of non-denominational church fellowship called "The Way Ministry". That's how we met. A/Mom had promised to keep in touch with me, send me photos of Heather, and keep me updated on Heather growing up.
Shortly after Heather was taken home by A/parents I was told that the A/father had been transferred to another military base, either in another state or country and I never heard or saw from A/Mom again.
