On August 13, 1987, I gave birth to a baby girl at Reynolds Army Community Hospital, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. In my heart, I named her Michelle (although this did not appear on the birth certificate). My husband and I were still very young, and he was in the Army at the time.
Our baby girl was adopted by a husband and wife that lived in Texas. The husband was an Air Force Officer. They had lost a little boy in an accident, and could not have any more children. I was told that they had been waiting for years to adopt. This is all the infomation that I have.
I want to know that our little girl has led a good life. I have 4 other happy, healthy children, and I want to know that our Michelle was given the same opportunnity.
Every year, when her birthday passes, I get a tear in my eye. Something in my life is missing, and that is knowing that my little girl is alright.
If any of my story sounds familiar to you, please do not hesitate to let me know.
