What now?
Hi, I will try not to make this long winded. My best friend, of 20 yrs, her nephew and girlfriend live in MI and are pregnant( almost 8 months) they got into law trouble and the girl was placed in a home for preg girls instead of juvy. They want me to adopt the baby. I live in Il and I am wondering does anyone know about the laws in MI. Can I take the baby home from the hosp. how do I go about finding an attorney in MI or IL? Etc...
Please going crazy. Susan ![]() |

Hi-
There are ways to take a baby straight home from the hospital. If BOTH parents are willing to relinquish their rights to the baby - the child can potentially be placed with you as a pre-adoptive placement. You will need to find a reputable adoption agency or an attorney who specializes in adoptions (preferrably interstate adoptions). Start now - these things can take lots of time and the baby must be due in about one month. Good Luck to you. Rhonda (amom to J-7, T-7, A-6, A-3, A-1...fmom to E-2, C-5mos...waiting for S-11mos) |
