Adoption Poll
Hi everyone,
Just wondering what type of adoption (domestic, international, special needs) that others in Michigan are doing and how long the process has taken so far. I'll start: Domestic adoption, one or two children, ages 0-4 First meeting with agency- Sept. 03 Submitted formal application- Oct. 03 Homestudy approved- Feb. 04 Waiting time so far since approval- 3 months

My husband and I are in the process of an international adoption from Guatemala. We are waiting on referral of an infant boy. Our timeline is as follows:
Homestudy completed 3/04 Fingerprinted for INS 3/19/04 Foreign dossier to agency for authentication 4/21/04 Waiting on INS approval to accept referral, should have approval within next 4 weeks or so. Travel to pickup our son 4-6 months after acceptance of referral provided there are no complications!!
