avg wait
This question is for adoptive parents who have adopted an infant domestically in Michigan.
Actually there are 2 parts: 1) How long was the application process from the time of the first meeting until your profile was in the book for birthmothers to choose from? 2) Once the application process was complete, how long did you wait until a child was placed with you? Thanks for the info. My husband and I are planning to apply soon and just want a rough time frame to help us plan. Marnie |

Marnie,
I really think it depends on the agency or attorney you are using as to how long it takes before "you are in the book". AS to how long you will have to wait until a baby is placed with you I think really depends on how many couples are waiting with you, and what you are willing to accept with a baby. My husband and I have waited almost 2 years!! It will be 2 years at the end of Aug. We have had 2 failed adoptions The last one failed just this past April I don't think any agency or attorney can really give you a time frame as to how long before you get placed with a baby. Good luck on your adoption endevors. Keep us posted on how things are going ![]() |
