Not an Adoptee, but I have no history.

Here is my story:

My mother was born in December of 1940. She was born in Detroit, Michigan from what I have been told. I am pretty sure it was somewhere in Michigan, anyway. From what I understand mother was born with the name Elaine Lucille Hooper. My mother is not being very cooperative with this whole issue so I do not have anymore information than that. I feel it is important to locate my extended family due to medical issues I have incountered through myself, my sisters, and my children. As for my father, that is another story: he died when I was three, my mother took us away from his family, and I have not seen them since. Again my mother is not cooperating.
Well, here is a start in the search for my history, one of the three searches, anyway.
Any help that does not cost would be helpful at this time, beings I have all my extra money tied up in the search for my adopted brother.
