I have Thallassemia minor. I was diagnosed with it when i was a baby. my aparents had me tested. I had a mild problem with it when i was a teen and the doc tried giving me iron. oops on his part. this aint your average old anemia doc! this is thallasemia! better known as Cooley's anemia. thank god i only have minor. well now that im older, i am having problems with it again. i went to the doctor i have now and she went and looked it up. nothing i can do she said. youll have to cut down on your meats and stop taking a vitamin with lots of iron it. cant have very much iron. its total opposite of regular anemia. it makes me soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired ALL the time. the previous doc, said oh its not the thallasemia, and tested me for eveything under the sun. nothing. totally healthy! except of course, hey doc, I HAVE THALLASEMIA!!! grrrr. now i have a child. i havent had him tested yet, but he may have it too. im so scared. and if he has children with someone who has it too, they will have a child that has thallasemia MAJOR. that is very bad. i need to find my bmom. oh yes i do.

Hi .........The desease you speak of runs in my family also. It usually hits people of a meditereanian background. I have it and I also have cancer. I can't walk and am so weak all the time. I have been trying to find my adopted grandchild who was born in Bufffalo in December of 1973. good luck.......Antoinette

I know the feeling of being weak, i am so tired and weak all the time. And i dont even have the major one either! I can just imagine. Its so hard everyday living like this, i dont know what i would do if i had caner too.
