ISO..any information...born..March 22, 1961....Need medical info!!!!!

HI..
I'm in search of birthfamily of any kind...Need medical information...

I was born March 22, 1961 in Frederick, Maryland area...
I am to have one full sibling about a year or two older than me..
First 3 children were to 3 different fathers...oldest died at age 4 of cerebral palsy...
I need medical information for my daughter's sake...Please..
does this ring a bell to anyone??
I've tried all legal searches and came up with nothing..I've used a Confidential Intermediary who was very nice in helping, but, she can't do much because of sealed records...
Any suggestions????????

Spike2....
all replies appreciated...you can email or p/m me....thanks

md ci's

Spike

Can you explain why the CI can't do much because of sealed records? Ci's petition the court on your behalf to open ALL records. They can use several sources- agency records, hospital records, even those 'sealed' original birthcertificates.
Whats the problem?

I have my OBC!! pfffffffft!
I missed her, I missed my siblings, I missed the connection, the identity, the ethnic background, the medical history..... I lost something very important in my life for 40 plus years. I am thankful to finally have all that back

Maryland CI's

Thanks for the reply...
The CI cannot give out any information about the adoption due to everything being sealed...
She did write 2 letters to the birthfather and he has not responded..birthmother is dead...
There are health issues she said, cerebral palsy and mental illness....The thing is my daughter is profoundly deaf...and apparently must come from my side...as her father has nothing ever in his family tree...
I think the laws just are not fair...I don't want to upset anyone's life or cause grief, but, I need to know detailed information...
I guess I'll keep trying everything I can...What you think?

md ci's

lisa,

So sorry to hear of your loss. {{hugs}}

I don't think I'll ever understand WHY Md legislators insist on protecting the deceased...........sigh.

Not long ago- Governor Ehrlich had vetoed HB 232 -- the sibling bill that would have allowed adopted siblings to receive search and reunion services via the state CI program. While the bill was deficient because it only provided for services to "adopted" siblings, at least some of the people searching would have been eligible. Governor Ehrlich said he was concerned about the trauma that might be caused to those adopted in the closed system if this bill went into effect. (ouch)

Have you considered joining Md search/support groups?
There's no reason why you can't search on your own- without state interferance- and those $#^% forced protections.
Let me know if you'd like support group listings.

thanks!

mn..
Oh yes...any help would be greatly appreciated...please send me any thing you might have..
And as for that bill being vetoed...The CI told me about it..
I feel I can trust the CI...She seemed to really understand how I felt and did everything she could..She emails me about every few weeks to check on me...She was very nice....She was out of Allegany County in Maryland...I live over the border in Pennsylvania....

Petition the courts

Hi, check and see if you can petition the courts for medical records.

It says that in my book. But I am not sure the law was changed or not.

It says if the agency doesn't have the medical records, then to petition the court.

thanks for info

Joan:
Thanks for the info!!!!

I already had petitioned the courts here in Pennsylvania and the judge would not open the records...

From there I went to Maryland Social Services and they put me in touch with a CI....She found the birthfather and sent him 2 letters and he never responded & the birthmother is dead..

I have registered with every site I can find...
I'm open to any and all suggestions!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!

How about your ci finding the b/mom's family. If she knows she is dead, can't they talk with the family for at least medical?

As far as the father, I would tell her to make sure its not him at that addr.

Joan
p.s. write to me directly at joan85032@yahoo.com

Sorry this took me so long to answer, I had hundreds of email to go through.
